Terms of service

Last updated: 5 August 2026

These terms apply to your use of www.entrancehandles.co.nz and to every order you place with us. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order you accept these terms.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Where anything here appears to conflict with those Acts, those Acts win.

1. Who we are

This store is operated by Entrance Handles, a trading name of Jaeco Industries Limited. Jaeco Industries Limited is the supplier on every order and the entity registered for GST.

  • GST number: 66-611-396
  • Email: sales@entrancehandles.co.nz

We do not operate a phone line. All contact is by email, and we reply within one business day.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Entrance Handles, and "you" means you, the customer.

2. Using this site

You may use this site to browse our range and place orders. You may not use it to do anything unlawful, interfere with how it works, try to gain unauthorised access to it, or systematically copy or scrape its content for a competing commercial purpose.

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.

3. Products, descriptions and images

We describe our products as accurately as we can, including material, grade, dimensions and finish. Our stainless hardware is 316 marine-grade stainless steel. Our brass and bronze hardware is solid, and is made to order.

Please note:

  • Screen colours are indicative. Finishes, particularly brass, bronze and powdercoated colours, will not match a screen exactly. Brass and bronze are living finishes and will develop a patina over time, and natural variation between production batches is normal.
  • Dimensions are nominal and subject to normal manufacturing tolerance.
  • Our products are sourced from manufacturers in New Zealand and overseas. If the country of origin of a particular item matters to you, email us before ordering and we will tell you.

If you need an exact colour or size match, contact us before ordering. We are happy to check.

4. Prices and GST

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. The price shown is the price you pay for the goods. Shipping within New Zealand is free, so there is nothing added at checkout for domestic delivery.

We can change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.

If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price because of a system or human error, we are not obliged to supply at that price. We will contact you before processing the order, and you can either confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Promotional discounts, bundle offers and trade pricing apply as described at the time, cannot be used together unless we say so, and can be withdrawn at any time. A withdrawal does not affect an order already accepted.

5. Placing an order

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we accept it, which we do by sending you an order confirmation or by dispatching the goods. An automated acknowledgement that your order has been received is not by itself acceptance.

We may decline or cancel an order and refund you in full if:

  • the item is out of stock or no longer available
  • we cannot manufacture to the specification requested
  • the price or the description was clearly wrong
  • we cannot verify your payment or delivery details
  • we reasonably suspect fraud
  • the delivery address is outside New Zealand (see clause 7)

6. Payment

We accept American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, Shop Pay, UnionPay and Visa. Payment is taken in full at checkout.

Payments are processed by our payment providers through Shopify. We do not see or store your full card details. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

For made-to-order items, manufacturing starts once payment has cleared.

7. Where we deliver

We do sell overseas, but not through the website checkout. If you are outside New Zealand, email sales@entrancehandles.co.nz with the items you want and your delivery address. We will quote the freight, and if you accept we will send you an invoice to pay. Our Shipping Policy sets out how that works and who is responsible for duty and destination taxes.

8. Delivery, title and risk

Delivery timeframes and costs are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Delivery estimates and manufacturing lead times are estimates, not guarantees. If a lead time changes materially we will tell you.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Title passes to you when we have received payment in full.

You are responsible for giving us a correct and complete delivery address. If an order is returned to us or has to be re-delivered because the address you gave was wrong or incomplete, we may charge you our actual re-delivery cost.

9. Installation and suitability

Our handles suit most standard entrance doors, including timber, aluminium and glass. They come with through-bolt fixings suitable for timber and aluminium doors from 35mm to 70mm thick, and an installation guide. Fitting them requires a drill and the correct bits for your door material.

Please note:

  • Double-glazed units are not recommended for through-bolt mounting.
  • uPVC doors have limited compatibility and may need additional reinforcement. Contact us first.

You are responsible for checking that a product suits your door before ordering, including door thickness, existing hole centres and hardware clearances. Our Door Compatibility Guide is there to help, and you can email us your door specifications and we will check for you.

We are not responsible for damage to your door, or to the product, caused by incorrect installation. This does not affect your Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 rights if the product itself is faulty.

10. Returns and warranty

Returns, refunds, cancellations and warranty are covered in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: 30 days for change of mind on stock items in unused condition and original packaging, a warranty against defects in materials and workmanship of 2 years on every pull handle with 1 year on the finish, and 2 years on smart locks, and made-to-order and custom items are excluded from change-of-mind returns but not from your legal rights.

11. Trade accounts and business purchases

Trade pricing is available to verified building professionals in New Zealand: licensed builders and building companies, registered contractors, architects and specifiers, and property developers.

To apply, email us with your company details and your licence or NZBN. Approval normally takes 1 to 2 business days. Your trade rate is confidential to your account and is not to be shared or published. We may suspend or close a trade account if the account details are no longer accurate, if the account is shared, or if it is used in a way we have not agreed.

The Consumer Guarantees Act and business buyers. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 protects consumers, and a consumer cannot be contracted out of it. Whether you are a consumer under that Act depends on the definition in the Act itself, not on whether you hold a trade account with us.

Where goods are both supplied by us and acquired by you in trade, section 43 of that Act allows the parties to agree in writing that the Act does not apply, provided that agreement is fair and reasonable. If you hold an approved trade account with us and have agreed to that in writing as part of your trade account terms, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply to supplies made under that account, to the extent section 43 permits.

Nothing in this clause affects the Fair Trading Act 1986, which applies regardless of whether you are buying as a consumer or in trade.

12. Reviews and anything you submit

If you submit a review, photo, question or other content, you confirm it is your own, that it is accurate, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and display it in connection with our products and our marketing. We may decline or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive or off-topic.

13. Intellectual property

All content on this site, including product designs, photography, 3D models and configurator assets, text, and the Entrance Handles name and marks, belongs to us or to our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or use it commercially without our written permission.

14. Our liability

We take responsibility for what we sell.

If you are a consumer, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 apply in full, and nothing in these terms limits, excludes or modifies them. The rest of this clause applies only so far as the law allows, and it does not apply to consumers where the law says it cannot.

Subject to that:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of contract or loss of business opportunity
  • we are not liable for any delay or failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, including freight disruption, supplier failure, natural events, strikes, and acts of government
  • where our liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order

15. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published at the time you placed it. We update the "Last updated" date whenever we change something.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.

If something goes wrong, talk to us first. Email sales@entrancehandles.co.nz and we will reply within one business day. If we cannot resolve it, a consumer dispute can be taken to the Disputes Tribunal up to its current monetary limit, and free advice is available from Consumer Protection at consumerprotection.govt.nz.

18. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we have given it up. These terms, together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about your order.
